Workday at the Center

What is a “workday”?

  • An opportunity for our community to work as one and ensure a clean and well-organized environment for classes, practices, and special events
  • An event where members of different classes can meet and build a sense of community, socialize, and have fun
  • People are welcome to drop in at any time during the scheduled time frame and assist in our efforts.
  • Snacks, beverages, and a vegetarian lunch while be provided to all (the food and beverages are sponsored by individual members, they are not provided by Center operating funds).

What types of work will I be doing?

  • Only what you are physically able to perform
  • Reorganizing/repacking storage boxes
  • Reorganizing and decluttering our bookshelves/magazine rack
  • Decluttering and cleaning our kitchen/office area
  • Cleaning meditation mats
  • Overall dusting and cleaning of the windows, walls, floors, countertops
  • Separating unwanted items into categorized disposal/donation bags

What do I bring?

  • You and your families – supplies will be provided

Do I RSVP?

  • It would be helpful (in the interest of ordering food) but not necessary; sign-up sheets will be available at the Center front desk (you can also email [email protected]).

Note: this event is independent of the “Work a Day for the Center” fundraiser and is open to ALL our community members.

About 

Tse Chen Ling Center for Tibetan Buddhist Studies is a Dharma Center dedicated to cultivating compassion and wisdom. Inspired by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Lama Zopa Rinpoche, we provide teachings and practices in the Gelug lineage of Tibetan Buddhist tradition. We offer meditation and a wide-range of Buddhist and secular programs as well as other basic life improvement classes. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization located in the Ingleside neighborhood of San Francisco.
