Tse Chen Ling is honored to welcome Yangsi Rinpoche for a special teaching on Defining a "Healthy" Mind.

Class Description
In this talk, Yangsi Rinpoche takes us on a journey to discover the definition of a healthy mind. Relying on the Lamrim Chenmo (the Great Exposition on the Gradual Path to Enlightenment), Rinpoche discusses the work of Lama Atisha and Lama Tsongkhapa as a basis for defining a healthy mind according to Buddhist thought, and explores the delicate balance between intellectual understanding and experiential insight of the teachings.

About Yangsi Rinpoche
Yangsi Rinpoche was recognized as the reincarnation of Geshe Ngawang Gendun, a renowned scholar and practitioner from Western Tibet, at the age of six. Rinpoche trained in the traditional monastic system for over 25 years and practiced as a monk until age 35. In 1995 he graduated with the highest degree of Geshe Lharampa from Sera Je Monastery in South India. He then completed his studies at Gyume Tantric College and went on to serve as a resident teacher at Deer Park Buddhist Center in Madison, Wisconsin for five years.

Rinpoche founded Maitripa College in 2005 in Portland, Oregon where he currently serves as president and faculty member. He is the author of Practicing the Path: A Commentary on the Lamrim Chenmo, published in 2003 by Wisdom Publications.

Rinpoche teaches in English and when not in the classroom at Maitripa College he travels widely, representing Maitripa College at conferences and giving teachings worldwide.
