Staying Sane in a Crazy World
with Ven. Robina Courtin
Monday, July 29: 7pm-9:30pm
Tse Chen Ling is pleased to have Ven. Robina Courtin join us for this special one-night program.
Whether it's traffic jams, strained relationships, highly demanding jobs, or the overall state of global affairs, the turbulence around us can deeply affect our inner world. So how do we shed our habitual anxiety, stress, blame, guilt, and depression? How do we instead cultivate fearlessness in the face of tragedy or worry? Through her dynamic teaching style, the fiery Ven. Robina Courtin will explain how the mind offers tools that enable us to grow more wise, confident, and joyful. "Our body and speech basically are like the servants of our crazy mind, so by first harnessing our physical and verbal energy, we start to develop some discipline and then some self-respect because these actions will cause us suffering..." - Ven. Robina Courtin Please note that there will be a short tea break around 8:30pm. |
Since being ordained as a Buddhist nun in the late 1970s, Ven. Robina has worked full-time for Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche's FPMT. Over the years she has served as editorial director of Wisdom Publications, editor of Mandala Magazine, executive director of Liberation Prison Project, and as a touring teacher of Buddhism. Her life and work with prisoners have been featured in the documentary films Chasing Buddha and Key to Freedom.
