Program Description:
Mind and Its Potential: Examine the mind and how it creates happiness and suffering; we can transform destructive thoughts and attitudes to develop a positive and joyous mind.
This is the first in a series of 14 modules covering the complete Buddhist path to enlightenment. Students may join at any point in the cycle but this is the ideal place to start. Discovering Buddhism is designed for students who wish to deepen their understanding of fundamental Buddhist concepts. Each module includes teachings, meditations, readings, assessment questions, and practice.
Whether you want to work towards completing the Discovering Buddhism course or are simply interested in learning more about Tibetan Buddhism, this class is a great place to start!

About Ven. Lozang Yönten
Venerable Lozang Yönten has been a nun since 2003. She studied extensively under Gyurmé Khensur Rinpoche Geshe Tashi Tsering at Chenrezig Institute (in Australia) from 2002 to 2009 before moving to India to study at Thosamling Institute from 2010 to 2011. In 2012, she became a registered In-Depth teacher with FPMT and has taught and led retreats at many dharma centers around the world. She moved back to the USA in 2021. Since then she has been teaching at Maitripa College, as well as offering retreats and courses at Vajrapani Institute and Land of Medicine Buddha. Venerable has experience in hospice work, as well as a deep commitment to social justice and a love of animals.

We offer all Dharma teachings and center events on a “dana” basis. This means we’re grateful for your generosity but there is no required cost to attend and no one is turned away for lack of funds.
Suggested donation amounts are provided, and we welcome you to offer what you can to help us sustain our programming and make the dharma and events like this possible. And of course, teachings are always freely offered to ordained nuns and monks.
