Class Description:
Geshe Tenzin Legtsok will present this five-part series in honor of His Holiness the Dalai Lama (born July 6, 1935), turning 90 this year. Geshe Legtsok will cover His Holiness' main messages on secular ethics and universal compassion. He will also present specific instructions on how to practice All Encompassing Mind Yoga to deepen our compassion, wisdom, and understanding of emptiness based on verses His Holiness often quotes. This program is scheduled to start on Saturday, July 19, and will continue on August 16th, September 20th, October 18th, and November 15th.

We warmly invite you to join us in welcoming Geshe-la at the center on July 19 and take part in the first sessions of this special program. The morning from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30p.m. will be a traditional teaching followed by an afternoon practice session from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with a short tea break and time for Q & A. If you cannot attend both sessions, please feel free to attend either in the morning or the afternoon. This will be a hybrid program, and you are welcome to attend in person at the center (highly encouraged) or via Zoom.
About Geshe Tenzin Legtsok:
Guided by his teachers, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche, and Khensur Lama Lhundrup, Geshe-la has devoted decades to study and practice in the Tibetan Gelug tradition. Born in Virginia in 1971, he obtained a B.A. from Kenyon University in 1995. Asking himself, “What makes for the most happy and meaningful life?” compelled him to major in philosophy during college and led him to study Tibetan Buddhism. Geshe-la was ordained by His Holiness in 2001. He trained first at Kopan and then at Sera Jey Monastery in India. He received his Geshe degree in 2023 and in 2025 completed his Tantric Degree at Gyumed Tantric College. He has a unique ability to bridge cultures and convey profound Buddhist teachings. His teaching emphasizes understanding and transforming the mind through practice. Whether you are a long-time practitioner or just beginning to explore the Dharma, this is an opportunity to learn from a teacher whose depth of knowledge is matched by his warmth, humility, and insight.
