Winter Wellness with Dr. Kalzang

Yangdron Kalzang, Menpa (Doctor) of Tibetan Medicine, will focus on prevention and self care during this seasonal workshop. She will provide a brief introduction to the fundamental principles of Tibetan Medicine, discussing the energies which determine our mental and physical health. The workshop will specifically address the steps we can take to stay healthy during the challenging winter months. The program will be in-person only and we will provide snacks and hot tea. About:
Mempa Yangdron Kalzang is the founder and Director of the Kunde Institute, a Center of Tibetan Wellness and Healing in Daly City. Mempa (doctor in Tibetan) Kalzang earned her Tibetan Medicine Degree from the Tibetan Medical University in Lhasa, Tibet and her Masters Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University, Santa Cruz. A California licensed acupuncturist, she helped develop the curriculum for the Shang Shung Institute School of Tibetan Medicine in Massachusetts. Mempa Kalzang has taught Tibetan Medicine in a variety of settings including the University of California, San Francisco and Stanford University.

​Advanced registration is required. The suggested donation is $20.


We offer all Dharma teachings and center events on a “dana” basis. This means we’re grateful for your generosity but there is no required cost to attend and no one is turned away for lack of funds. Suggested donation amounts are provided, and we welcome you to offer what you can to help us sustain our programming and make the dharma and events like this possible. And of course, ordained sangha (ordained nuns and monks) are always welcome free of charge.

Tse Chen Ling Center for Tibetan Buddhist Studies is a Dharma Center dedicated to cultivating compassion and wisdom. Inspired by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Lama Zopa Rinpoche, we provide teachings and practices in the Gelug lineage of Tibetan Buddhist tradition. We offer meditation and a wide-range of Buddhist and secular programs as well as other basic life improvement classes. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization located in the Ingleside neighborhood of San Francisco.
