Meditation Practice and Instruction
Meditation is not on the level of the object, but on that of the subject. You are the business of your meditation. - Lama Thubten Yeshe
We offer two hour-long weekly drop in meditations that include some instruction and time for questions on Saturday mornings and Thursday evenings along with a mid-day meditation on Thursdays at noon that lasts a half hour. All our meditations are designed for students of all levels. Various techniques are presented, including visualization, stabilization, and guided analytical, with some time for instruction, practice and questions. Our drop in meditations are perfect for those with no meditation experience at all and as a kick start for the more experienced who want to develop a regular practice. It’s also a way to discover differences between the meditation styles of different traditions and to understand the purpose of meditation. Because our hour-long meditations allow lots of time for questions about Buddhism in general, the center and, of course, meditation, this is a great place to start at Tse Chen Ling!
