September schedule

Geshe Dakpa is currently at Deer Park Buddhist Center in Wisconsin assisting with rituals and prayers for Geshe Lhudrup Sopa who passed away on August 28th. We have a tentative return date of 9/14 for Geshe Dakpa however, the actual date is dependent upon how long Geshe Sopa remains in clear light meditation.  We will post a notice to this website when Geshe Dakpa’s classes will resume.  All our other classes and events will continue as scheduled.  Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Introduction to Tantra

Discovering Buddhism module Introduction to Tantra with Ven. Palmo begins on Thursday September 25th at 7pm. Learn the meaning of tantra, how tantra works, and why it is a powerful form of practice if done with the right foundation of understanding and practice. Get a broad overview of the distinction between sutra and tantra, the four classes of tantra and the meaning of deity yoga. In addition, find out how to integrate the practices of tantra with lam-rim meditation for optimal results.  Students must have taken at least 4 previous Discovering Buddhism modules to attend these classes.

Memorial Service for Venerable Chokyi

All are invited to honor our dear Ven. Chokyi who passed away on August 10th at a memorial service at Tse Chen Ling. The service is being organized by Ven. Tenzin Chogkyi.  This will be a reception with finger food and drinks — please feel free to bring your favorite snacks and drinks. This will give people a chance to share their memories of Chokyi and also have a chance to talk informally.  Sunday September 7th at 4pm.
